Leap Year: An Extra Vacation Day!

Did you know that 2024 is a Leap Year? That means we get one extra day to enjoy an Orlando Vacation, so make plans to have fun in Orlando this Thursday, February 29.

If Mr. Harris Rosen, our founder, was born on Leap Day, he’d be celebrating a 21st birthday this year, old enough to order a beer at Zebra’s Sport’s Bar and Grille! Read below for figuring out your Leap Year birthday.

We’re always thinking of fun ways to spend time in Orlando. This extra day gave us some unique ideas.

Face a Fear

With an extra day comes more room for courage. This is the perfect opportunity to face a fear of yours and feel invincible. If you’re afraid of heights, take the chance to challenge yourself with something that would normally frighten you the other 365 days, but not on the special Leap Year day.

A visit to iFLY Indoor Skydiving, across the street from Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando, is a great way to get that falling sensation without the extremity of jumping out of a plane.

Document the Day

February 29 is a notable date that you won’t want to forget.

Take the time to showcase all the fun you’re having in Orlando by capturing these special vacation moments on your camera. Let go of all the anxiety that can sometimes come with posting on social media and show your family and friends all your adventures on this day.

Picture with your breakfast from Lite Bite? Yes!

Selfie of you and your crew waiting for the shuttle? Absolutely!

Photo of you screaming your head off on a thrilling ride? Duh!

Make the day extra special and memorable in this small and easy way. We would love to see them too, tag us in those fun photos @RosenInnPointeOrlando on Instagram.

Embrace your Fictional “Leap Age”

Nurture your inner child with a day filled with gleeful fun. Divide your current age by 4 to figure out what your hypothetical leap age would be. For example, if you’re 30 years old, your leap age would be 7.5.

What do kids that age like? FUN!

Take yourself to a theme park, a few options right in Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando’s backyard and eat sweets for breakfast. You can even take the shuttle from the hotel to Universal Orlando Resort (because 7-year-olds don’t drive) and enjoy a Voodoo Donut with coffee (because you’re still an adult who needs coffee).

Fill your Day with Favorites

An extra day deserves extra special treatment. Think of all your favorite things that you save for special occasions and do them on this day.

Take part in all your guilty pleasures, minus the guilt. Treat yourself to a nice steak with your favorite wine over at The Capital Grille, a few steps away from Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando.

Visit The Florida Mall to shop ‘till you drop and splurge on those items you’ve been eyeing on.

Top off your day of favorites with a sweet treat from JoJo’s ShakeBAR where you’ll find extravagant milkshakes.
