Orange County Convention Center
At 7,000,000 square feet of convention space with additional services such as business centers and dining, the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), owned and operated by Orange County Government, is the primary convention center of Central Florida and the second-largest convention center in the United States. Located conveniently off of International Drive, the OCCC is easily accessible by car and is serviced by the I-RIDE Trolley. If you plan on visiting the OCCC, Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando—just a brief walk from the OCCC North Building, provides your best economical hotel stay in the immediate area.
From most points on International Drive, you can see The Wheel rising 400 feet above the skyline. As one of the many attractions at ICON Park, The Wheel offers breathtaking views of Orlando from within its air-conditioned capsules. Look around at the immediate area to spot your favorite attraction or theme park. Further north downtown Orlando rises into view amidst a lush landscape of lakes and a sea of trees. About a mile north on International Drive sits the second largest aquatic events center – the Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center. In addition to providing excellent aquatic amenities, the center also has a fully-equipped gym and fitness center. Guests visiting Orlando are welcome to use the center’s pools and gym, even attend classes, with affordable hourly, daily, or weekly passes starting at $5 for 2 hours. The I-RIDE Trolley service offers guests a convenient and cost-effective method of traveling the length of the International Drive Resort Area. Major stops include Orlando Premium International Outlets®, SeaWorld®, Aquatica®, and the Orange County Convention Center. Around its many other stops are hundreds of amusement parks. Across the street from the hotel is a “top-secret research laboratory” containing more than 100 interactive exhibits and experiments. Legends say Professor Wonder created and accidentally unleashed the power of a man-made tornado that uprooted his laboratory from an island in the Bermuda Triangle. The lab fell—upside down—right off of International Drive. Enter into Professor Wonder’s world and play the role of a mad scientist, trying to harness natural disasters and exploring the wonders of space and Earth in each exhibit. Ripley’s Believe It or Not®
Speaking of amazement, this building is right-side up but looks as if it’s falling into a sinkhole. No worries, Ripley’s “Odditorium” is structurally sound, but what’s inside may unsettle you. Enter a world of amazement and bewilderment in the galleries of shrunken heads, bedazzled skulls, and rare antiquities—even an authentic vampire killing kit. Explore every inch of this 10,000 square foot building containing the weirdest anomalies and man-made artifacts.
Fun Spot America®
The most popular amusement park off of International Drive features Orlando’s first-ever wooden roller coaster, White Lightning. People of all ages and families have fun in this attraction that is stocked with go-carts, shooting games, and thrill rides—including a small gator exhibit.
