Jimmy Buffet at Amway Center

Parrotheads, get ready! The man whose music is probably on every island music playlist, Jimmy Buffett, is coming to Orlando on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. Accompanied by The Coral Reefer Band, Buffett will be playing some of his classic tracks and some new tunes from his 2020 album Life on the Flip Side. If you’re a die-hard Buffet fan, a casual listener, or just curious to see what all the noise is about, then be sure and get your ticket to the party, so you don’t miss any of the “Bama Breeze” Jimmy Buffet is sure to bring to the Amway Center this December.

Growing Older but Not Up

Buffett was originally scheduled to perform at the Amway Center on December 7, 2019. Unfortunately for Buffett and his fans, he required shoulder surgery at the time and was forced to postpone his tour an entire year in order to recover. Fans with tickets for the original concert need not worry as they will be honored at the new show date. If ticket-holders are unable to make it to the rescheduled concert date, they can get a refund through the site or vendor they bought their tickets from.

Many Trips Around the Sun

Jimmy Buffett has been making music for a long time. Born on Christmas Day, 1946, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Buffett wasn’t interested in music until he saw his fraternity brother get attention from the ladies by playing the guitar. Playing music was something that really ignited a fire inside of Buffett. Shortly after he learned a few chords, he was playing in clubs on Bourbon Street.

Buffett moved to Nashville after graduating from college and began working for Billboard Magazine while trying to make it big in the Music City. It wasn’t until a year after his 1970 debut album Down to Earth when he found the sound he’s known for today after he took a trip to Key West. Buffett’s 1974 track “Come Monday” finally landed the beach rocker on the Billboard chart where the song peaked at number 30. Three years later, “Margaritaville” catapulted Buffet’s career, peaking at number eight on the Billboard chart.

The Music Man from Margaritaville

Buffett has had five top ten songs on the Billboard charts, two of them being number one songs. He has won numerous awards and has been nominated for multiple Grammys as well as a People’s Choice Award. However, perhaps Buffett’s biggest achievement is the creation and expansion of his Margaritaville brand. A great business that started from a great song, Margaritaville brings in between $1.5 – $2 billion annually (as of 2018), according to Variety magazine.
