For more than 30 years, Les Misérables has been one of the world’s most popular musicals, performed in over 20 languages and seen by a total of more than 70 million people worldwide. A classic story based on the 1862 Victor Hugo novel of the same name, Les Mis has seen a number of adaptations over the years, including a star-studded 2012 Hollywood production featuring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfried. However, none have permeated pop culture with the staying power that the Tony-award winning Broadway production has shown.
This fall, you can be part of the Les Misérables phenomenon when the touring production comes to Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center on October 22-27. Cameron Mackintosh produces this national tour that opened in 2017 and runs through 2020. This tour comes on the heels of a critically-lauded return to Broadway during 2014-2016, and shares a lot of the same stage design and technical work. A talented cast comprised of seasoned Broadway performers as well as fresh young talent brings the classic tale of courage and hope to life. You’ll hear all your favorite songs from the musical’s famous soundtrack including “I Dreamed a Dream,” “One Day More”, “On My Own”, and more.
