OCCC July Events

As we enter the middle of summer in Central Florida, we’re slowly ramping up on conventions. As always, the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) remains the central point of many important gatherings. In this age of great concern to health and safety, the OCCC has and continues to work tirelessly with conference managers and safety officials to determine the safest approach to such gatherings.

Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando also continues to work closely with local health officials to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its guests. If you’ll be in Orlando for business or a conference, then consider staying with us as we’re less than a mile away from the West Concourse and one mile from the North and South Concourse. Speaking of the OCCC concourses, here’s what’s currently on schedule for the month of July.

Con of Thrones

Friday, July 17 – Sunday, July 19 | West Concourse

Attendance 10000 | Web Address https://www.conofthrones.net/

Fans of Game of Thrones will not want to miss this convention featuring characters from the Great Houses. Cosplay is highly encouraged, but leave the real weapons at home. Prop weapons are allowed as long as they’re checked in at the customer service desk. Photo with guest stars from the hit series can be purchased. The 2020 guest list includes Iain Glen “Jorah Mormont”, Anton Lesser “Qyburn”, Miltos Yerolemou “Syrio Forel”, Sam Coleman “Young Hodor”, and even the Wildefell wolves with “Pan” the Crow.  There will be a Small Council Q&A with the guests but requires a Valyrian Pass.

iCan Bike 2020

Monday, July 20 – Friday, July 24 | North/South Concourse

Attendance 300 | Web Address https://icanshine.org/ican-bike-orlando-fl/

Most of us take riding a bike for granted, but not the people attending this private five-day camp for people with disabilities. The main goal of this summer camp is to learn how to ride a bike. Past attendees’ and their caretakers’ testimonials have expressed the great benefit this camp gives as the new learned skill not only provides added mobility and a greater sense of confidence, it also boosts people’s independence.

Attendance 1350 | https://swiftrfp.com/orlando/SHI-Global-Sales-Conference-Vendor-Showcase-390084

Want to spend the day looking at fly kicks? Connoisseurs of urban culture are invited to this special conference all about those rare and expensive sneakers. A Hotel on International Drive

Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando’s location across the street from Pointe Orlando places us at the center of entertainment, dining, and shopping along International Drive. Our prime location gives you and your colleagues many options for how you’d like to wind down after a long day of meetings, sessions, and walking around the expo hall. Once the day is done, you’ll be thankful you chose a hotel close to the OCCC with pillow-top mattresses and many homelike amenities in your guestroom.

Best of all, our associates and housekeeping team work diligently to keep you safe at all times with daily and thorough cleanings. We clean touchpoints in common areas several times a day with hospital-grade cleaning products. You’ll now see floor signs helping you maintain safe social distance from others. We’ve also placed other signs around the hotel reminding guests of good cough and sneezing etiquette, to wash your hands frequently, and to abide by our temperature checks, mandatory for checking in to the hotel. Partitions separate guests from the front desk staff, who now wear masks.

When you walk into your guestroom, it will have been unoccupied for at least 24 hours. This is to give our cleaning process more than enough time to properly disinfect all surfaces. Every room is cleaned with an electrostatic spray using a hospital-grade disinfectant. Linens are laundered in a state-of-the-art facility that utilizes disinfecting detergents and steam in the computer-monitored process, which is inspected monthly.

We’re doing all we can to help maintain a safe environment for our guests and associates. That means staying in line with CDC guidelines as well as those mandated by state and local officials. As it always has and forever will remain, your health and safety are our top priority. If you’re ready to book a room for your next conference, check out our competitive rates by clicking the Check Availability button at the top of this screen.
