Shows Coming to Dr. Phillips Center in November

Theater with lights on and curtain up

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has quickly established itself as Orlando’s preeminent venue for both large-scale and intimate productions, concerts, musicals, and plays. Here are some of the wide-ranging acts scheduled to perform at the center in November 2019.

Sammy Hagar’s Full Circle Jam Tour

In Association with AEG Presents, the Dr. Phillips Center welcomes the bombastic rock and roll road show of Sammy Hagar & The Circle to the Walt Disney Theater at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 9.

Led by the former Van Halen front man, the supergroup consists of original Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Led Zeppelin legacy drummer Jason Bonham, and guitarist Vic Johnson. Formed in 2014, the band will perform tracks from their debut album “Space Between,” classic Van Halen and Led Zeppelin hits, and jams from Hagar’s other bands Montrose and Sammy Hagar and The Waboritas.

Escape to Margaritaville: The Jimmy Buffett Musical

For a limited run between November 12–17, the Walt Disney Theater will welcome Escape to Margaritaville—the heartwarming musical inspired by the hit songs of Jimmy Buffet.
Presented by FAIRWINDS Broadway in Orlando, the musical features all of the legendary Parrot head’s most recognizable songs as well as some gems from deeper in his music catalogue. Hits like “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Volcano,” “Fins,” “Margaritaville,” and “Son of a Sailor” help tell the story of a part-time bartender and singer who falls for a career-minded tourist in this hysterical musical comedy written by Greg Garcia (“My Name is Earl,” “Raising Hope”) and Mike O’Malley (“Glee”).

Jonathan Van Ness: Road to Beijing

Star of Netflix’s hit reboot “Queer Eye” and Funny or Die’s “Gay of Thrones,” Jonathan Van Ness is bringing his first worldwide comedy tour “Jonathan Van Ness: Road to Beijing” to the Walt Disney Theater at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 23. Due to popular demand, the tour—in association with Live Nation—has added a second show at 10:30 p.m. Tickets start at $45. VIP tickets are also available for $125 that include a pre-show meet and greet and photo opportunity with the rambunctious podcaster, TV personality, and hairstylist to the stars.

Disney Junior Holiday Party!

Children will love seeing all their favorite Disney Junior characters live and in concert during this ultimate holiday party on Sunday, November 24 at the Walt Disney Theater. The 3 p.m. show will feature Disney friends Vampirina, Elena of Avalor, the Muppet Babies, Doc McStuffins, the Puppy Dog Pals, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse, among others, as they sing and dance along to holiday classics and Disney Junior songs in this energetic holiday musical experience. Tickets start at $29.50; however, children one year and under can sit on a lap for free.
