The Killers at Amway Center

Proceeding with Caution, The Killers have announced a 65-city tour with a scheduled stop in Orlando, Florida this September. With the recent release of their highly anticipated album, Imploding the Mirage, The Killers are set to take the stage at Amway Center for their much-anticipated tour with special guest Johnny Marr on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at 7 p.m. The Killers at Amway Center

Who Are The Killers?

Originally formed in 2001 by Brandon Flowers and Dave Keuning, The Killers was completed in 2002 with the addition of Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. The small rock band started in Las Vegas would go on to be referred to as one of the biggest rock bands of the 21st century. Combined, the band has won 32 music awards that include the 2018 Album of the Year for the album Wonderful Wonderful and the 2010 Vanguard Award. The Vanguard Award is given to bands who are “shaping the future of music” and has also been given to many other artists including Jack Johnson, The Strokes, and The Beastie Boys.

Opening Act Johnny Marr

First achieving fame as a guitarist and songwriter for The Smiths, Johnny Marr has since been a member of The Pretenders, Modest Mouse, and other popular bands. Marr has also toured across the world as a solo artist and achieved several accolades. In 2010, he was voted the fourth-best guitarist of the last 30 years.

Imploding the Mirage Tour

With the release of Imploding the Mirage, The Killers are ready to perform new songs for their fans from their sixth studio album. The album was recorded in cities across the United States such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Park City, Utah. Lead vocalist Brandon Flowers said that they went to Utah to record part of their album because it was where he “fell in love with music for the first time.”

Taking precautionary measures to embark on their tour, the band is looking forward to their summer shows and suggests that during this pandemic, fans sing Mr. Brightside while they wash their hands.
